Time-Saving Tip #1: Frozen Ginger Cubes

It's not even my original idea - I found these at Woolworths and thought they were such a nifty little trick to store in the freezer:

...except I don't even use ginger that often and they've been sitting in the freezer for a couple months now.

Since being on this cleanse, the Kineasiologist told me to start my day with hot water, fresh squeezed lemon and grated ginger. So I finally found some use for those ginger cubes.

Except I turned the pack over the other day and saw that "Ginger" wasn't the only thing on the ingredients list:

DEXTROSE?!?? That's a SUGAR!!!!

Good thing those cubes are small so it's not like I was having loads of dextrose.

Ran out and bought fresh ginger and after 45 minutes of grating my way to high heaven, I've got fresh ginger cubes now sitting in the freezer. They're in those silicone trays so they're easier to pop out. Super handy!

(Peeling and grating ginger is SUCH a mission... might as well get it done in one go and not worry about it for a while)

It's also a world of difference in taste... the freshly frozen ginger sans preservatives was a kick in the pants and my belly felt nice, toasty and warm. Quite different from the Woolworths' ginger which seems a lot milder.
