Only in Africa Part 8: Mandela's birthday, sorry can't help

So yesterday was Madiba's 90th birthday. It's a huge deal especially since he's such a respected guy here - and there's been lots of press coverage and TV programs about it.

...and it's also been a great excuse for people not to work. Just yesterday the local broadcaster, SABC, told my Production Assistant that they couldn't give her a quote... "we understand it's urgent, but it's Mandela's birthday today and there are too many things going on at the station. We'll give you the quote on Wednesday next week".

er... OK, so what happened to Monday and Tuesday?
